Testimonials

This was an incredible session, I loved that way you have been creating the space with blankets, cushions, music, tea etc. I felt grateful to feel safe enough to lie down and relax. I loved the opportunity to go through the process of birth and make sounds. This was profound for me”

Zoe’s course ‘Rewilding Pregnancy and Birth’ made a phenomenal difference in the outcomes of my second pregnancy, in terms of my mental and physical health, my confidence in advocating for my choices around pregnancy and birth, and my general wellbeing. I previously had a lot of fear and trepidation around engaging with the medical system for antenatal care, and this was preventing me from having positive health outcomes for myself and my baby. After taking the course with Zoe, I was able to release my fear and anxiety around antenatal appointments and engage with the system in a confident and empowered way, which has lead to extremely positive pregnancy and birth outcomes for me. The activities and education we undertook in the class were interesting, informative, healing and empowering. I am so grateful that I was able to take part in what Zoe is offering. Her expertise as a seasoned practicing midwife, combined with her creativity, advocacy skills, connection with the natural world, and her deep knowledge of the cycles of life, make for a well-balanced antenatal course that is sure to draw you deeper into the wonder of pregnancy and birth and help you to feel positive about your own pregnancy journey, whatever that may be.

Zoé is amazing, very knowledgeable with over ten years midwifery experience and will tell you herself that helping women with their childbirth journey is her passion! I felt stronger, more knowledgeable and empowered about the upcoming birth of my second child.
I was very pregnant and we were able to organise two tailored sessions with my partner in my garden sitting on her comfy pillows and blanket, drinking hot tea. I had never sat just there on the grass by the tea trees and was able to appreciate the beauty and grounding qualities of nature. I was conscious this setting was deliberate, reminding me that myself and my body come from this place and so too does the giving of life and the process of childbirth itself. Zoé opened the sessions with Acknowledgement of Country which I listened to with my eyes closed touching the comforting damp earth beneath me.
I was able to talk about my mum's birth story (of me), the birth of my first child and consider how they impact me. I appreciated going through the physiology of the amazing changes that go on in our body during pregnancy such as the growth or expansion of so many organs including the heart. We were given paper, paint brushes and pencils to draw what we heard described. I liked seeing how different our drawings were. Later, my first child saw the drawings and was interested in knowing what it was about and wanted to add his artistic impressions to it, which we did!
Zoé talked us through the different stages of labour and focused in on aspects that I was keen to better understand or was nervous about - THE PAIN, inductions, pain relief options, the different positions that we can birth in, pushing and how that might feel, tearing and episiotomies and how to navigate feelings of wanting to be polite and accommodating within the hospital setting that I chose.
Zoé came with a range of reading options including birth stories. It was so helpful to read about all the different ways that we birth and accept that there are a variety of unknowns that may arise even with the most prepared birth plan in the world.
On the day I felt better supported, was able to better express my needs and just thankful for the experience. Zoé was just what I needed!

I acknowledge the Wurrundjeri people of the Kulin nation as the traditional custodians of the land I call home. I thank them for caretaking this land for all of time before now, a caretakership that will continue for all of time to come. I pay my respect to the elders of the past, the elders of today and the elders of the future. I acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
I have gratitude for the resilience of the people who have maintained and shared the stories, songs and traditions that are deeply embedded in the story of this land from which I benefit every day.
This always was and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land
